In 2015 I was commissioned to gather oral recordings from Calderdales lesbian community. The recordings were transcribed, developed and performed directly as a play-back verbatim theatre piece to participants, and a wider audience. The piece reflected on the political, social, economic and pschyo-geographics of how Calderdale became renowned for being such a vibrant gay inclusive community.
‘Eve Robertson has chosen the sections with a great ear for stories- which made for a captivating story. By the audiences reaction to the piece and their interaction with Eve, they knew they were in safe hands. No mean feat.’ Joyce Branagh, director, writer, producer.
